December 2009
McDonald's win 5 star "Loo of The Year" Award
McDonald's Restaurants were the big winner in the 2009 Loo of the Year Awards, walking away with the UK Overall Winners Trophy.
The annual ceremony at the National Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham on 4th December 2009 was the 22nd in the history of the Loo of the Year Awards. Each year the Loo of the Year honours the best "away from home" toilets in the UK.
Awards managing director, Mike Bone quotes - "The UK's restaurant and hospitality sectors are placing significantly increasing importance on provision of first class toilets that contain the facilities their customers need and expect when visiting their premises. McDonald's has continued to improve the quality of their customer toilets since winning National Awards in previous years".
A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "We are proud to have won this year's Loo of the Year Award - this has been achieved through the hard work of our crew and managers within both our franchised and company-owned restaurants. The judges specifically commented on the excellent standard of the toilet decor and cleanliness, as well as our helpful and friendly crew - this is further testament to the success of our vigorous training programmes and extensive re-imaging projects".
As part of this extensive re-imaging project and the McDonald's energy saving scheme, Ecoprod Technique have supplied over 700 restaurants with our Urimat waterless urinals and we believe that this award is further testament to the effectiveness of our products!
