Waterwise - Working to ensure the future of water
Waterwise is a UK wide Non Government Organisation which started in September 2005. Waterwise is governed by an independent board of academic, NGO, industry, Government and water company representatives. Waterwise is a not-for-profit company and gets its core funding from the UK water industry and will run for 5 years and has a specific aim of promoting water efficiency.
The Waterwise Aim
With an independent voice, to develop a model framework for sustained water efficiency in the UK for all use of mains water and to reverse the upward trend in per capita consumption by 2010, underpinned by a robust evidence base demonstrating the social, economic and environmental benefits of water efficiency.
URIMAT – The Clean Solution
Urimat offers a dramatic contribution to any responsible environmental policy and has been awarded the prestigious Waterwise Marque. Waterwise, an independent non-government organisation is the leading authority on water conservation, which means that URIMAT can be specified as ecologically (as well as economically) convincing.
"This is the first scheme in the UK to highlight water efficient products. The Waterwise Marque will empower buyers to make more informed choices on which water using products to purchase. The most effective long term way to stop future water shortages is for all of us to make small behavioural changes and to choose water efficient products."
