Xeros washing machines

Xeros technology inside IFB machines save up to 70% water, 50% energy and 50% detergent whilst extending the lifespan of clothes.

How do Xeros washing machines work?

Polymer beads called XOrbs are released into the wash and roll between fabrics stopping fibres from harshly rubbing together. The presence of XOrbs mean that much of the water used in a standard wash is replaced, meaning lower wash temperatures and therefore less water to heat. Reduced water also means there is a higher concentration of detergent in the wash process enabling a powerful, yet gentle cleaning action that in turn reduces fabric damage and surface fading.

The characteristics of XOrbs mean they attract dye molecules in the water which stops them from transferring onto other clothes. Their weight helps to keep fibres taught, even when wet, to reduce shrinking. Clothes are less creased, softer and have an extended lifespan. After the wash cycle is over the XOrbs are safely harvested back into the machine for future use.

Why choose Xeros washing machines?

Save money

A Xeros system uses significantly less water, detergent and energy compared to a conventional washing system. The more you use it, the more money you will save! Many customers have seen a full return on investment in as little as 18 months. This will vary from site to site, but we can create a personalised projection for each customer.

Extend the life of your fabrics

The system provides superior cleaning, especially of stubborn grease stains. Because cleaning is carried out at lower temperatures and uses less chemistry, it is kinder on your linens as well, extending linen life by up to 25%.

Reduced creasing

XOrbsâ„¢ have a gentle, tumbling action that reduces creasing. A Xeros-enabled system also requires lower temperatures and less detergent, so clothes look and feel new for longer. Less creasing also means that less ironing is required.

Commercially proven technology

Georges SAS is a commercial laundry service based in France. They specialise in the cleaning and maintenance of corporate clothing, specialised workwear and PPE.

Today, they process the clothing of over 55,000 employees for high profile clients including SNCF, Renault Design, Bouygues, Notre Dame de Paris, Air France and EDF.

Whilst cleaning worker’s PPE garments following the Notre Dame fire and the Eiffel Tower restoration, it was found that the Xeros powered process was able to effectively clean lead from garments. This meant the uniforms could be reused rather than disposed of, saving the clients substantial outlay by extending garment life.

SNCF, one of Georges’ key customers, have experienced around 20% (12 -18 months) garment life extension since working with Georges and the Xeros technology.
